96 pts “Very deep ruby in colour, it explodes with kirsch, fruit pastilles and black olive aromas wound up tightly by high quality oak. It is still a little bit closed but already absolutely moreish and delicious. That is then followed by a palate that is dry, firm, young and tight, with a super balance of dark fruits over ample tannins. There is an attractive layer of spice too – cinnamon and fennel seed – that helps it to retain brightness and subtly before a long and rich finish. A super wine that will cellar nicely, if you can keep your hands off it. Angus Hughson, Wine Pilot August 2021

#23 TOP 100 WINES OF 2021 & 94 pts “Powerful, vibrant and fragrant, with dried lavender, Earl Grey, dried oregano, five-spice power and dark chocolate aromatics to mingle with the core of velvety smooth plum, black cherry and wild blackberry flavors. The tannins firm up appealingly on the finish, which goes on and on.”  MaryAnn Worobiec, Wine Spectator April 2021

94 pts “Very polished, very good shiraz. Hits out around medium weight but delivers way more of an experience. There’s a boot polish thing in here too. Mostly, dark berries, inky, booze-soaked cherry fruitiness, this curl of milk chocolate and a slick of sweet spice. It feels shapely, velvety but deals in coolness too. You can’t use the word restrained around it but there’s shape and length and a smudge of nice, dusty tannins molten lava in it all. Lovely stuff. This is a good way to see how $55 goes for quality and Barossa shiraz.” Mike Bennie, The WineFront, 21 JUL 2021
