Vineyard visit season is in full swing here in the Barossa.

Quick trip to Stonewell this morning for a walk through the Windmill block with Tammy and Stuart Schutz.

We’ve had some late spring rain which has helped after a winter with lower than average rainfall. The vines are just through fruit set so vintage is getting closer by the day!

Go you good thing!

We’ve been lucky enough to get some much needed rain over the last week or so and the valley is looking glorious.

Rain at this point in the growth cycle is critical as the vines will be flowering in the next few weeks so any additional soil moisture is put to good use. Add in lots of blue sky days on between the rain and its looking lovely.

The weather here in the Barossa hasn’t quite got the memo that it’s Spring, some sunny days interspersed with windy and cool days.

It’s one of our favourite days of the year!

#grenacheday is celebrated globally on the third Friday in September, although we don’t need much encouragement to celebrate one of our favourite varieties.

Also worth celebrating the resilience and foresight (or is it stubbornness) of the previous generations for ensuring this much loved variety continued to be grown here in the Barossa.
