2017 Integro Cabernet Shiraz
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) from the Stonegarden Vineyard in Eden Valley with an exceptional parcel of Barossa Shiraz (10%).
From Latin: To integrate or make whole.
We have long had in mind the idea to produce a Cabernet Shiraz blend as our contribution to the proud and distinctly Australian tradition of blending these two varieties. An age worthy wine that would reward extended cellaring, allowing its journey of evolution to be enjoyed over many years. A wine from special Barossa vineyards, and produced only when the right vintage conditions prevailed. Our patience has been rewarded, and we are proud to announce the first release of Integro – meaning to make whole – from the 2017 vintage.
98 pts and Top 100 of 2020 “A full-bodied wine of ultimate coherence and quality, the bouquet setting the signal for the palate to follow. Attention to detail is obvious, especially the handling of tannins and oak. The integration of these components with the blackcurrant fruit is faultless.” James Halliday Wine Companion 14 November 2020
96 pts “A new blend of 90% cabernet sauvignon and 10% shiraz that offers a very fresh, vivid and intense impression that leads with blueberries and blackcurrants, as well as violets, dark stones, graphite, pepper and earthy elements. The palate has attractive freshness and lively fruit with intense, ripe blueberries, black cherries, blackberries and more. Smoothly composed, long and even. This has a very succulent, long and rich finish. Dense, long and well composed. Drink or hold.” Nick Stock, JamesSuckling.com 11 November 2020
