The Barossa Wine Auction is on again this year, a much loved part of the @barossavintagefestival this auction is one not to be missed and is full of wines from the personal collections and cellars from across the Barossa.

Lot 10: John Duval Eligo Experience – Lunch for four people
featuring a selection of the 15 vintages of Eligo and a rare 3L bottle of your favourite Eligo vintage.

The 2021 vintage marks the 15th release of John Duval’s flagship Shiraz, Eligo. With this ‘money couldn’t buy, but now it can’ experience you can be the first to taste a selection of the 15 vintages produced of this esteemed wine, with commentary from John and Tim Duval. The experience includes a private lunch with John and Tim for up to 4 people at Artisans of Barossa, plus you’ll be given a rare 3L Eligo from your favourite vintage. John may even dip into his private cellar to share some personal highlights over his 52 year winemaking career over lunch.

Getting the steps in early in the day!

Checking in on one of our Grenache vineyards this morning, this vineyard is in an elevated position behind Menglers Hill and is looking good despite the dry conditions. Nat and Karl Schiller get to call this little slice of paradise home and we are pretty jealous of the views (and Nat has one of the best fig trees around!)

Our Shiraz vineyard in Krondorf in the central Barossa Valley is looking great, we are about 90% of our way through veraison (the all important stage where red grapes start changing colour and accumulating flavour) in this vineyard.

Not long now until Vintage 2025 kicks off!

In the lead up to vintage John and Tim will be spending a lot of time walking up and down the rows of vines across the valley, checking in on how things are progressing ahead of vintage.

As the grapes get closer to ripening this involves tasting and sampling bunches of grapes from across the vineyard to keep an eye (and tastebud) on how things are shaping up.
