Each morning team JDW head out to walk the rows and check in on the grapes, tasting as they walk and taking samples.

The 2021 Annexus releases have been quietly gathering some great reviews since their release in November, 2021 as a vintage is definitely shaping up to be an exciting vintage.

2021 Annexus Shiraz - 95 pts “The John Duval wines really are modern classics. It’s got tension and precision written all over it. Heavily perfumed in forest berries, dark chocolate, alpine herbs and new leather/mahogany Chesterfield chair kinda thing. It’s succulent in texture, fine and firm in the palate and stretches luxuriously long. All of that perfume translates to flavours, a bit of extra cedar oak seasoning and a touch of sweet-earthiness too. It’s beautifully balance and all up classy.” Mike Bennie, The Winefront February 2023

An integral part of the Barossa Vintage Festival since 1965, the Barossa Wine Auction raises funds for the Barossa Australia Well-Being Fund. After the record-breaking success of the 2021 Barossa Wine Auction season, this fund has been delivering vital mental health first aid courses to our community. With your help, we can expand this impact.⁠

Vintage ‘23 commenced this week with our first pick of Marsanne in Marananga for the Plexus white.

The last week of warm sunny days and coolish nights has been fantastic for ripening across the region and we should see our first reds in the winery in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.
